Oh WOW....did he fly on the Blackbird???? I got to see/tour it once after it was declassified - it flew into RAF Alconbury, UK where we were stationed. Been trying to see if i recognize any of the patches...and a couple seem familiary...but it's been a long time. That's a great quilt !! .... Please thank him for his service!!
He did not fly the blackbird, but worked on them for most of his 20 years. He was stationed at Alconbury just before we were married. He loved it there. Sadly, he passed last year.
