My big issue is people doing things to antiques that cannot be undone... Painting it purple can be redone and is no issue, but if it had it's original decals and paint, even this would torque me out. I agree and would defend to the death their right to be stupid and insensitive to history and those who care about it....
They obviously don't watch enough "Antique Roadshow" How many times do you hear the appraisers say if the item had its original finish or was complete and not altered it would be worth so much more.
