1 4 or 5# boneless chuck roast
1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
1 pkg. dry Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix
1 pkg. dry Au Jus mix
1 cup beef broth

Mix all dry mixes in the one cup of broth until all dissolved. Put roast in crockpot, pour broth mixture over. Set crockpot on low for 8 hours.

That's it...couldn't be easier. I served mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli with it. The gravy from the pot is great over the potatoes.
This is an absolutely great recipe. I used a small eye of round roast and cut it into pieces so it would cook faster. I did everything just like the recipe called for except that I cooked the roast in a 350 degree oven using a 5 qt Magnalite Dutch Oven and added about an extra cup of water. I cooked it covered the whole time. About 2 1/2 hours later, it was done. I found it a little bit salty. The next time, I won't use any salt in my potatoes when I am boiling them for the mashed potatoes. It still had both my husband and myself oohing and aahing. Absolutely the best tasting roast I have had in a long time.
