I have done "bobbin work" with a very thin yarn on the bobbin and invisible thread on the top. Then I write backwards. Start at the right side and work to the left. Takes practice, but sure is fun. The letters show on the bottom, but not on the top. It works better to have your tension changed so that the bobbin thread (yarn) does not put up at all, and the top (invisible) goes down and around that yarn. I have a reversible Betty Cotton quilt, on which I drew flowers for the back side, but did it on top of the 12 Days of Christmas on the front.
