That is sooo true! I tried to educate a seller or two that their "electric from the factory" machine was NOT from 1860. One was so bad, he said someone else told him his machine was a very early one based on the serial number, but it had the newer style tension and spool holder, and came on a base with the motor. He told me he thought the motor must have been added at some point.
He did drop his price to $200 (was asking $400) and it was still there last I looked. I bought mine for $200 with case, accessories and 2 manuals, and it is a much nicer machine.
