Oh, forget all that 7/8 inch stuff and go for a full inch (4)then trim down to fit!
Most of us, by this age, are nearly too blind to see those "weird" measurements anyway!

Such words of wisdom !! I couldn't have said it any better. The 7/8 is the seam allowance on an angle. Just round up and trim it down after pressing. You will find you will have very accurate hst !!!
