The two are very different and each deserves their own class. Most shows judge them separatly but some don't. I have an idea for one of my quilt tops and I just may have to do both on it. I was thrilled to see that in a lot of the bigger shows they are now separating out the quilts that are done all by one person and the quilts done by someone who has sent the quilting out to be done by a professional. I have to admit it drives me a bit batty when I have a quilt I've done all on my own go up against a professional long-armer. We all know who wins that battle! :P
