I'm using a Coats & Clark variegated thread to zig zag an applique onto a quilt top but the thread is fraying. Is this a needle problem? If so, do I got to a larger needle or smaller? I've used the zig zag successfully on this machine on other projects, so I think it's the thread. Any suggestions?
