I finished 5 blocks, one correctly and 4 incorrect, then mixed them up and showed them to several people to see if they could find the good one.....nobody could tell the difference without studying the blocks, and a couple couldn't see any wrong at all....so I have decided to just continue with the blocks as is, adding the rest of the red logs....if the blocks were constructed with light logs and dark logs, I would never question about fixing them, but since they are all red logs surrounding a cream center, the error is hard to see...I will post a pic when done.
OOOHHH! now I think I understand better why you don't need to rip. Since all the outer logs are red, it's only the seam positions that are wrong, and that probably won't be noticeable. You just need to find a way to keep that white one in the middle. I'm waiting for a picture.
