I am between quilts that I am making for specific people, so I started looking online for scrap quilts to 'play' with some of my scraps. My scraps are organized only by color and I have not cut them into specific sizes. I came across a couple of 'rainbow' quilts that I liked but I chose to do these half log blocks that I saw on this quilter's blog,

The project was more labor intensive than I expected
-- lots of cutting and trimming. I thought it would be freeing to not worry that blocks were an exact size until the end when I cut them down to 6 1/2 inches, but I'm not sure that it was! The blocks are on my 'design wall' for now but I'll probably make some more. I don't have a specific design in mind for the final quilt. But I did enjoy playing with my scraps
