I have a chest type piece of furniture in my living room that the top opens. It is my 'coffee [clutter] table. I used to store quilting fabric in it. I have changed things around for better use by me. Now the chest holds all my stabilizers [since they are heavy] and my sewing [clothing] fabrics.
My sewing projects are together and now the studio if for all my quilting needs, except for a smallish pretty 4 drawer chest of drawers. The top drawer holds the small quilting items like extra blades, extra rotary cutters [the ones I use only rarely], small plastic templates; one drawer is for my LA thread and items LA; one drawer is for my Aurifil and specialty thread; one drawer is for my garment sewing supplies; the bottom drawer is for my serger threads and large cones of decorative yarns or threads. It is so pretty I have it by my front door.
The nice thing about having the extra space is that there is no "foul" if I decide to change things around. I arranged the stuff for my convenience.
