Quilt Assistant is an open source (i.e. free) program that helps you convert your own drawings into paper-piecing templates or helps you make paper-pieced designs from photos or other graphics. If you search for it in your search engine you can find the program and the guy who made it also has done some nice tutorials describing how to use it.

I did not know about QA. It does seem like a useful tool.
I googled it and now have the webite bookmarked. Tomorrow, I will check it out more thoroughly.
