Great start - This is a nice idea for a scrappy quilt! I love playing with my scraps - I have so many ideas I want to try, and since they are not usually for anything in particular except me, there's no pressure to rush or finish- it's my "fool around time" But once I get one going that I like, I have to work it in cause I usually like these the best!
