I'm in awe of the quilts with detailed, intricate quilting, but it's not what I personally enjoy doing. I love to piece a quilt but once it's time to put it on my long arm, I start procrastinating. I just don't enjoy that part of the process so I find reasons to put it off. As far as looks alone, I like an all over pattern so the piecing is what really stands out. Again, I admire the feathering, outlining and other skills of Charisma, Harriet and others, but I've accepted that I won't ever have those skills because I don't want them enough to work at it. I'd rather do a quick all over quilting and move on to my next piecing project.
One of the things I appreciate most about quilters is that we're definitely not one size fit all. There are so many variations within the art that one can never get bored!
