OH I forgot. To make the dead Singer 201 work I swapped the good motor from a Singer 15 then converted the 15 - that was the first one I did. The second was the black chrome 15. All 3 machines are happy now. For what ever reason it is easier to find a Singer 15 than a 201 around here. It is very simple to change the motors out. I have a big bunch of Singer 15s and they always seem to have wiring issues. Some have been rewired and some need either rewire or HC. HA HA it may boil down to whether or not they have throat plate screws that will hold the belt guard... or if the motor is not falling apart inside or what ever whim...
