I used a strait stitch about 1/4" in sniped the edges and took it to a laundry mat to fray it.

This is really pretty! What stitch did you use to sew around the edges of the denim arcs? Did it fray like that in the washer? I watched that tutorial above and she suggests using zig-zag but then would we get the frayed effect?
