Default My Jewel in the Curio Quilt

This is a pattern from the Moda Bakeshop I made with Moda's Coquette fabric. I really liked the quilt from the pattern but decided I wanted to scatter the colors/fabric more so I did not group the four patches and HST together as instructed.

I attached the 3 borders for each side together first (leaving an incomplete seam at the ends of border 2 and 3) and then attached to the quilt top. Not sure this was a great idea but I still don't have a set in table machine and I dreaded feeding the quilt through 3 different times to attached each border. I was a bit frustrated at the time but having the 3 borders does finish the quilt off nicely.

This is one of only maybe 2 quilts out of many dozens I've made that has white solid fabric in it (Kona Milk I believe) and I'm just not sure I am a fan. I think because the white fabric just don't seem as high of quality as the other fabrics--thin and loose weave. It looks fine from a distance, but I am more of an up-close and details kind of gal. I've got several other quilts planned that use a white solid so I think I am going to have to shop for some white on white fabric instead. Maybe after this is quilted the white spaces won't bother me as much. Hopefully.

The last photo shows my backing fabric. This was my favorite print in the Coquette line.
