Actually very well, so far. The motor is only .53 so it's not a powerful machine but it went through 6 layers of Levi's denim with no problem at all. Ran over seams easily. Nice looking stitches. There is one problem, though: the needle position lever seems stuck in the center position. Tri-Flow time. Some things I really like: the lamp is bright, the length lever is very sensitive so I can get exactly the size I want, the presser foot lever raises the foot fairly far (though it's no Kenmore), and the zig-zag is very balanced top to bottom with the bobbin thread matching the top w/out coming through the fabric at the hook points. The 206/306/319 series is reputedly a little noisier and this one is no exception but I don't find it bad at all.
Like you, I really like the styling of these machines and I agree with you that the gentle slope forward presages the Rocketeer and the 328.
