Edyta Sitar from Laundry Basket Quilts had a pattern using HST and as I recall, they were all on the dark side.

Okay, I found her book and the HST quilt is on the front. Interesting layout.

In either case, the placement is interesting and I think a scrappy would be great in either layout. Just choose the lighter side of each HST when you lay out your pieces.
