It uses the CC, 1221, or40F1 needle. It does not use the 206x13 even though there are several needle charts that list it as a replacement (206x13 has the wrong timing length). The needle-bar can be raised by 1.8mm to allow you to use a 15x1 needle.

They are really short needles. My manual says only needles that are made for this machine will fit it. Probably the dreaded 206X13.
I haven't cleaned either machine yet. Won't get to them until the fall.
