It took a lot of steps because I did all the dyeing and didn't really know what I wanted as the end product while I was doing it.
If you used commercially dyed fabric, it would be pretty easy: apply wonder under to back of black fabric. Trace design on freezer paper and apply to front of black fabric: cut out; fuse black fabric to background fabric.
