The featherweight thing is only funny if it's not happening to you. Some people just shouldn't go out in public. If she gives you any more grief about your machine tell her to prove you wrong. You know she won't be able to. Didn't Singer make another newer plastic machine they called a featherweight? Maybe that's what she was thinking. Either way she was rude.
