I use the YLI brand of invisible thread with a cotton thread 50 wt. in the bobbin. It can still be seen a little if I jog up on top of the ditch. That is when the little permanent pen come in to play. Also I too spread the seam as others have said. When the quilt is then washed I'm usually happy with the results.
