My mother made several queen sized and twin sized yo-yo quilts. She did not back them or appliqué them so they all have holes in between. I have a queen sized one she made for us and also have 2 matching yo-yo twin sized. She even made 3 skirts for herself; one a multi-colored, one a forrest green one and another red and green one for Christmas. She was approached by a lady in a restaurant who requested that Mom make one for her. She wore a colored slip under the skirts. After her death I kept her skirts and have them hanging in my closet. Great memories of seeing her sit outside or on the couch sewing yo-yos. I placed one in her hand with a needle and thread at her funeral. Just seemed natural to see one there.
