I have a cutting mat that is the exact size of this table's top so it works well for me. I also made an ironing surface out of a wooden board that I can set on top of the table to use when needed. I store my sewing machines (in cases) underneath the table. By the way, I'm short (5' nothing LOL) and the height of many tables is too high for me - this one's perfect.
