in her tut, on step 12, she adds the backing square, then does the quilting step.
http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...r-t238746.html so i guess we'd have to ask her how she joins her squares. however, when i do mine, i think i'd skip adding the backing square and just do the quilting step with the front and batting. then i'd sew the squares together and then add a full backing. i'd probably just tie or machine tack the backing. maybe, i'll change my mind after i hear katydid's answer.
