Default One Screw....

You know the issue... You have 5 screws to remove to take a part off. Four of the screws come off easily but that one darn screw refuses to budge.

That was an issue I had trying to take the face plate off my Singer 27 Treadle. Two screws. One came right off, the other didn't want to move. Swear words and cussing didn't seem to help either. I was starting to strip the head. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Someone sent me an email with helpful or clever household tips. One of the tips was to put a rubberband over the screw head and then use the screwdriver. Holy Cow! This actually worked!!!!!

This is really stupid but I am on a site where I know most of you can relate to my reaction. I was tickled PINK to get that darn screw off. I was able to get in there and oil the snot out of the gears. That machine is so quiet now and much cleaner too.

So, I thought I would share the rubberband trick with all of you just in case you encounter the one screw problem also. Who would have thought it would work?
