A bit of trial and error was necessary to line up the raceway, both fore and aft, as well as place the needle at the best spot in its little groove.

the other adjustment that was necessary, and I don't have it perfect yet, as it's a little noisy, is the shuttle carrier. This is necessary in order to restore the correct geometry between the point of the shuttle, and the little hooked finger that holds the shuttle in. There must be room for the loop of thread to pass between the hooked finger and the shuttle. Initially I had it too tight, and it would break the upper thread instead of letting it pass over. You can see how critical the timing of the loop forming and the shuttle point entering the loop is.

All in all, it was nice to work on something so easily manageable, with everything easily removeable.
