I have the 875q which is one of the easiest machines to use. It really is incredibly easy to get comfortable with, much more so than either of my janomes though it doesn't have the spec of the 12000. My sister cast a covetous eye on my sapphire when I got my new machine. I just told her to keep her mitts off as it's going no where. I do feel guilty though because it hasn't been used since February. A bit of a waste really but I'd struggle getting rid of it. I think I'm always wary of coming across some aspect of the janome that baffles me completely so that I have to haul out the sapphire to work on. I'm sure you won't be disappointed with whatever you chose.
