Default Another SEWMOR to my collection, a blue 202

For several months SteveH and I have been discussing my acquiring the blue SEWMOR 202 he had for my collection. Well things finally jelled and it arrived about a week ago.

This 202 is a bit different than my other 202 as well as being blue. It has no decals anywhere. And in place of the decal usually found on the arm there is an actual name plate.

( I thought I had a better pic than this )

So far the only things I've had to replace was the two felts for the spool pins. Everything else is there except the light. I'll check with my LSMG then go to Sew-Classic if he doesn't have one.

The machine sews beautifully. Nice straight stitches and consistent stitch length settings.

On the bottom of the bed is the stamping J- C2 and there is also a small decal with J- A27 on it. According to the J- chart at Yahoo this indicates it was manufactured by Toyota.

This machine has one thing in the bobbin hook area that I have not seen before. It's a red plastic wedge like piece between the hook drive and outer ring.

The little steel tab that holds it in place is stamped:
PATENTED
JAPAN 434193
U.S.A. 2842081

Perhaps a vibration dampener?

At any rate my SEWMOR collection is growing slowly but surely.

One of these days I'll have to dust them all off and take some good pics for a family portrait.
