I think that sort of thing whenever I see someone trying to date a machine. I always think saying something nice or some flowers or candy might help.

Congrats on the new Sewmor Joe. That one's a beauty. Very nice shade of blue.

I've wondered about how to ID the machines with no markings by using the "lipstick" on them. Things like the shapes of knobs, the guarantee plate where the Singer logo would be or the patterns on the faceplates. Your Sewmor feed dog knob looks very similar to the one on my Rodney machine.
I figure even with all the importer's brands out there some of them have to repeat. I don't see the manufacturers retooling for every little thing.

Off topic: Joe how is your Japanese clone project coming and is there anything I can work on for you?
