For the 6600, there is a FMQ packet with three interchangeable shoes for the one foot. It is far nicer than just using the hopping/darning foot ... and was what got me hooked on FMQing. It really is a worthwhile investment for your machine.
I have that foot and I absolutely agree!!
I looked it up: this convertible foot for the 6600 is part 202001003 - go to Janome.com and search for that number and you'll see the foot we're talking about. I use that plastic "dish" shaped end on the foot and I LOVE it. I can totally see what I'm doing. I still am not very practiced at FMQ but this foot helps!
And the 6600 is high shank, I looked that up too.
