Sure is a beautiful quilt! Did you notice how the background print is not interrupted by seams? If you make this in the normal way, there will be seams and the seams will show when the pattern is interrupted. There are two ways that I can think of to do it differently: one is to put your beautiful batiks in the center blocks and leave the outsides a plain or very small print. Another is one I've seen on this board sometime. Sew the center blocks onto the larger squares with a top-stitch, and leave the edges raw. You may not want that on something so pretty. So how about facing the small squares with dryer sheets sewn onto the right side, slit them and turn, and then top-stitch right on the edge of the small square. Lots of work, but the print background would be whole.
