Default My birthday present to self, Empira treadle from a fellow QB'er, It's different!

Actually I was cruising CL ads a little further from home. Searching for treadle. Found 2 beautiful machines for only $50 apiece. Plus, getting them would require driving over to the coast, and what the heck, today is actually my birthday, so we spent the night over there too. All round great trip. The wonderful QB'er who made let this happen, is "nickylsf". My partner Mary and I got a great tour of her quilts, and some instruction on paper piecing, as well as checking out the exceptional Free Motion Quilting that she does.
Here's a picture of the artist with one of her quilts, A closer look at some of her FMQ We both learned a lot, and Mary is quite inspired to try putting it to practice. But here are my birthday presents. 1st is a Damascus Grand Rotary treadle.
But 2nd is this very unusual, and quite beautiful Empira treadle. Apparently the company got sued by Singer for advertising itself as the "new Singer". The Griffin decals are eye catching. It came with several attachments, the needle appears to be a 15x1 and the shuttle is just a wee bit shorter than the one in my Singer 28, and looks very similar, and the bobbin is the same length. It turns freely, but has a lot of dried up caked on oil and lint residue, but I think it will clean up very nicely. and here she is
