to help remove rust from chrome, use a crumpled up piece of aluminium foil and water. 1. ball up a piece of foil to the size needed. 2. dip it in to a bit of water then rub on the affected rusted part. The abrasive nature of the ball of foil will rub away rust and polish the chrome. I picked up this tip from a US show called American Restoration. They fix old stuff up to like new condition. It worked on an old iron I had. Your machine is a real cutie!
