I made that quilt and did not put batting in it .The jeans make it heavy.I stitched a 1/4 " clipped to let it fray. I took it to a lander mat to wash and dry the 1st time to help the fray and to keep the lint out of my machines. Joann's has a circle rotary cutter by olfa it works great. But use a coupon .
