Gayeann, please get those tops out of your closet and finish them! I know you will be blessed with enjoying them and her memories after you have completed them....just like I did!! You'll truly have some "vintage" quilts. I love mine!! With the 80/20 batting I quilted it with, it made it light and cuddly and very washable......not like the heavy cotton batting that my aunt and grandmother would have used 50 years ago!! Another plus!!! My mom told me that she and my grandmother would go to the cotton gin yard and pick up the scraps of cotton from the ground and "card them" to use them for batting. Another one of the necessities of being poor and yet needing the utility quilts for warmth!! We just don't know how spoiled we are!!!
