Sign-ups are open until I have a maximum of 25 swappers. Each month is loads of fun with a wide variety of fabrics in each swap. Sew much fun! Here’s how it works: we will be making 8 ½” unfinished D4P Block quilt blocks. One set equals 6 D4P blocks. You may make as many as 6 sets of 6 blocks each which would be 36 D4P blocks. Wow! That’s a lot of quilt blocks. Imagine how cool that quilt will be??? I know! Right??? Please us a variety of pinks and chocolate browns. You could make 36 blocks each with different fabrics! Wow!!! The more variety the better. That would make a wonderful swap, wouldn’t it?
June’s theme is
CHOCOLATE COVERED CHERRIES (aka pinks and browns). In case you’ve never made a D4P quilt block, here are the instructions:
http://sewwonderful.blogspot.com/201...o-9-patch.html
The
Argyle style D4P has a twist: Make a 4 patch with a pink and a light neutral fabric and cut according to the instructions. Next, make a 4 patch with a chocolate brown and a light neutral fabric and cut according to the instructions. ***DO NOT SEW TOGETHER YET*** Swap the pink/neutral strips with the brown/neutral strips between the two blocks. Please see pictures below. Sew together with a scant ¼” seam. Voila! You now have two Argyle D4P blocks!
Please use 100% cotton, quilt quality fabric to make your quilt blocks. Please pay attention to the back of your quilt blocks; pressing, snipping extra threads, etc. Be sure your quilt blocks are squared up, trimmed and even.
