Cut mine the 3 1/2 "x6" . I got ready to sew the 2nd sq to the left of the top rectangle & realized it was too short. But easy to recut & only had to rip out 3 short seams.
I am so sorry that your measurements didn't work for you. I just double checked mine again & I did use the 3 1/2" by 6" for my block & it turned out just fine. I really hope that it was easy for you to cut the extra blocks. Again, I am so sorry. All of these blocks are turning out so beautiful.
