Default Patchwork diaper pouch & changing mat

I made this based on a tutorial I found here: http://www.craftbuds.com/diaper-pouch-changing-pad/

This is a diaper pouch for my friend, who is expecting a little boy later this year.

Back: These are 2" squares.

It's intended to hold a changing mat (there in the front pocket) and the main pocket is big enough for a diaper or two, a little packet of wipes...basically it's a quick-change pouch. Keep this in the diaper bag ready to go and you have all the basics plus a waterproof changing pad to put between your kiddo and whatever surface you're on.

The changing mat: Top is patchwork, back is PUL (from Joann's). It's fused together with wonder under and bound like a regular quilt. No quilting, I didn't want to poke holes in the PUL.

I made the inside of the pouch out of PUL as well - my theory is that in a pinch, wet clothes can be temporarily stored inside and then the whole thing can be machine-washed. I need to test that though, I'm afraid I might end up with a bag of water so I'll need to test and give instructions.

(The color looks weird here; in real life it's a nice dark leafy-green)

The patchwork and binding is all done to match the quilt I'm working on for him too; here's the top, all finished. I'm waiting for glue basting to dry right now; I should have it quilted by end of the weekend.
