Thank you all for helping me understand this. I just couldn't get it straight in my mind. I like making hexes while watching baseball. I am a big Tiger fan. I just sewed some hexes together to experiment with what to do with the sides. Now I can try several different methods. In about two years I may be able to post some pictures but until then I will keep on sewing.
