I have purchased a boatload of Judy's patterns, but didn't realize the difficulty until I took a class from a Judy Neimeyer-approved teacher. She was able to explain things that were difficult to understand when reading the pattern. I'm so glad I took that class through my quilt guild. I'd probably be exactly in your shoes if I hadn't. If at all possible, see if there is anyone in your area who has learned from Judy. Her classes are extensive, and her students really have to know their stuff to pass the class.
