I made a California King with 7 rows of braiding. I used 3 jelly rolls (had some left over and used them for the binding!) I cut a triangle of 12 inch square and cut the strips into 8 inch lengths. I put 3 inch sashing between the rows and put 6 inch border on it. I had enough of the jelly roll left so sewed them together for the binding! The sashing and border took almost 5 yards and the entire quilt was batik. Hope this gives you a rough idea of what is involved. I do want to say that I pressed each seam after it was sewn, as the next seam crosses it. My friend was happy with the surprise.
