Seemed like it worked okay (just let it dry & heat set it) when I/we made the first quilt with pictures. After cutting up lots of pieces of freezer paper to iron onto my muslin, I learned I could re-use the freezer paper multiple times through my printer. I also only fed one sheet at a time.
We were also told to not use detergent when washing-really you should just rinse-the quilt in cold water only. I guess I'll just keep on going as I have been. Another goof I made was ..using "Best" print quality when printing the pics, but they came out just fine. Thanks to all who offered ideas and solutions. I guess I'll have to remember all this when I do the next one.
