I got a high shank adapter for my Brother 1300, a predecessor to your 1500. I used it with my 1/4" foot all the time with no issues, but the needle didn't line up properly to use my stitch in the ditch foot that came with my other Brother machine. My dream is to get the walking foot that takes different feet, but last time I looked it was still $200.
