We need more info what kind of color and kind of batting , color of backing and did you know that there is a right and back side of batting (according to the quilt police) Not sure of the "right way to place the batting" But it has to do with the rough side or the side with the scrim. Also some times white batting will poke through and show on dark backs. You can get black batting if that is the problem
