I too live where cotton is grown, as a matter of fact right behind out fence in a huge cotton field, I don't smell anything unusual at any time during the growing or reaping so not sure what the farmer uses as far as keeping the bugs out. That's why I have chosen to use Hobbs batting, it's grown right here in my wonderful state of TEXAS!
