DH and I ended up on the road again today. We hadn't planned on it until I got a call from the lady I bought all the quilt fabric and scraps from last year - she had found some singer attachments and wanted to know if I was going to be showing up again this year.
This is about 100 miles away, but they had a local quilt show too, so we hit the road. Came home with some run of the mill attachments - and about 150 lbs of quilt fabric, mostly 1-2 yard pieces or larger. Also got a box of lace and some embroidery thread. All for $160, so I'm happy. And since I promised my sibs, and their kids and grand kids all quilts - getting fabric cheap is great.
We also stopped and picked up a forlorn older White VS in the busted top of a treadle cabinet that we had seen yesterday for $10. It does have a nice condition shuttle in it - and the cabinet still has the drawer locks, though the drawers were offered for sale separately. The machine is also missing the front inspection plate - not sure if it will be brought to life or parted, but at least it's no longer sitting in the junk pile.
