It still had some of the accessories in their sealed packets and all the sales receipts etc. My daughter-in-law loves the machine. I have sold things on Craig's list and my daughter has purchased quite a few toys and such for her children off Craig's list. Like anything you have to be careful but there are deals to be had out there.
Similar story... Dad bought Mom a new Kenmore sewing machine in cabinet around 1944. Mom thought she wanted to sew for my older sister. She made her a pair of pajamas but hated every minute of it. The machine was stored away and became a "table" in her bedroom. Many years later, I came along. When I was about 11 I wanted to sew some doll clothes and Christmas ornaments. I opened up the machine and followed every step in the little manual, to get the thing oiled and threaded. I made many doll outfits and soon graduated to sewing my little sister's dresses for kindergarten. I taught myself how to sew on that machine (Mom didn't remember how to use it and was no help) and the rest is history!
