I don't see why not. Even with a scrappy quilt 12" squares would work, but depends on the look you want. Have fun playing with the arrangement of the squares. A perfect opportunity to play with color, prints, print sizes, solids, stripes, plaids, a fussy cut or two, batiks, big and little florals. Maybe not all of these choices in one quilt, or maybe yes! Make geometric shapes: big squares, giant rectangles, 4 or 9 patches, a big X from corner to corner -- whatever comes to mind. Think of it as the grand experiment. What fun. And just think, Any square that hits a sour note in the grand symphony can be replaced and reused elsewhere--all cut up with a new life.
